年7月31日上午，住房城乡建设部召开“传统村落保护发展国际大会”新闻发布会。住房城乡建设部总经济师赵晖、福建省人民政府副秘书长詹志洁出席新闻发布会并介绍情况。

传统村落是活的文化遗产，是人类文明传承发展的生命体，承载着各民族的历史记忆、文化艺术结晶和民族地域特色，蕴含着人与自然、人与人和谐相处的丰富智慧，对当代及未来人类发展具有重要意义。但随着工业化、城镇化的快速推进，大批传统村落逐步消失，保护发展传统村落是当今社会面临的一个课题。自年起，中国政府启动传统村落保护工作，取得初步成效。为进一步推动传统村落保护发展，交流国际经验，凝聚共识，加强合作，促进优秀传统文化在现代化建设中传承发展，住房城乡建设部将与福建省人民政府于年10月中下旬在福建省厦门市共同举办首届“传统村落保护发展国际大会”。
